*Du-BeatE-O – Really ragged punk film in which a filmmaker in hock to gangsters, forces people at gunpoint to finish his film. Full of the scenesters from the late seventies, including a performance from Joan Jett. Incoherent and pretty hard to watch if you ask me, but punk fans need this movie! (A-)

*DYNAMEN – 6 EPISODES, DUBBED – Ultra silly redubbing of a Japanese monster/superhero show. Ran on night flight during the eighties then showed up on syndicated TV for a while

*ENDURANCE – Really wacky and violent Japanese game show where the contestants see who can endure the most heinous tortures for the whopping grand prize of…a trip to California! See dudes get bowling balls rammed up the ass, Raw brain eating, lots of nut cracking, nipple scorching and Tabasco sauce eating. How stupid can people be? Buy Endurance and find out! (B+)

*FALLEN ANGELS – Documentary on the porn industry circa 1985. This is pretty sobering stuff as we see several young (and none too bright) ladies get gobbled up and spit out by the flesh industry. Another highlight is to see Ron Jeremy before he was the fat ass hedgehog he is now! (B+)

*GRIM REAPER/ 39 STRIPES – Oh boy, this is it! The second set of ORMOND Christsploitation flicks made with Rip off Artist/preacher Estus W. Perkle! In the fist of these must have short flicks a race car driving kid, who refuses to go to church ends up chewed up on the track. The rest of the movie is the torment of him in hell and his family having to listen to Estus talk endlessly about it! 39 Stripes is essentially the same flick but with bikers! Loads of cheap gore, tawdry monsters and Christian propaganda that will make your jaw drop! Religion doesn’t get any funnier than this blood drenched series. Both on one tape too! *THE HUMANOID (1978) - Totally berserk Italian Star Wars rip off with Richard Keal as a penis headed cyborg out to rule the universe. This must be seen to be believed! (B)

HWY - Jim Morrison made an experimental film during the final days of the famous band he played for (who were they again;-)). the film was never finished, but here is the footage he shot. The movie is a surreal, stream of consciousness thing much like his poetry. Also included is some really rare performances. Quality various throughout from good to pretty rough.

Deren has influenced everything from rock music (GODFLESH uses her art on their albums from time to time), rock videos (Actress/Singer Mila Jovovich’s debut song is practically a remake of MESHES OF THE AFTERNOON) and many, many horror films. Moody, though provoking and incredible. (A+)

A Vet comes home and is still terrorized by the memories of a slaughter he was part of. He sets about finding the rest of his squad that caused the carnage to punish them for the crime. With a really weird, transcendental ending that is genuinely unexpected. (C+)

*THE OCCULT EXPERIENCE (1987) - Very well made documentary on the Occult scene circa the late eighties. Visit with the Levey's and H.R. Giger. Stop by several witchcraft shops and see ceremonies and black masses at work. What we really get is that the world of the "Occult" is a big one, encompassing many different ideas and faiths, while mainstream religion finds ways to use their beliefs as money making hate systems. This is a fascinating movie. Very even handed, but with enough kooks to be entertaining. (A-)

OF FLESH AND BLOOD - Ultra low budget indy film about the life and times of John Holmes. Really well done and surprisingly good for such a no budget film. Unfortunately the filmmaker got disgusted and left movies behind for the lucrative business of Air Conditioning! (B-)
